Fabian Giefer (born 17 May 1990 in Adenau, Rhineland-Palatinate) is a German footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Bayer Leverkusen.[1]
He made his Bundesliga debut on 6 November 2009 against Eintracht Frankfurt.[2] He had a clean sheet and the team won 4–0.
On 1 December 2010, he made his international debut for the UEFA Europa League, substituting Bayer's #1 goalkeeper, Rene Adler. The team won 1–0 against Norway's Rosenborg.
On 7 August 2011 against FSV Mainz 05 in the opening weekend of the 2011–12 Bundesliga season, Giefer was concussed and stated that he doesn't remember anything about the last month.[3][4][5]
